What is Your Address?

Happy New Year.

We spent our break exploring our brilliant backyard in between wild weather. 

Last week I was contacted by someone wanting to visit and asking for my address. I explained that the only way to get to our hidden gem is by boat, helicopter or walking; there are no roads. And, our address is "the first house past the waterfall"!



I wonder when we should expect a visit and whether she will find us easily. It is a long walk from Ship Cove Meretoto!

Marine Magic in Marlborough

What do you imagine in the sunlit shallows and glowing depths?  There were bioluminescent sea-quins from the moana and a kaleidoscope of colours at the NZ Marine Sciences Conference. And what was the Marlborough Mermaid doing up in Auckland and near the Waitakere Ranges at the end of last month? She was, in the city and forest (ngahere), sharing and listening to diverse stories about disappearing land and sea forests and how we can better care for people and their special places.
